How Does Your Membership Help?
Your membership helps beyond you and your family, you help those with disabilities in Livingston County. With your help, The Arc Livingston will continue to empower persons with developmental disabilities and their families to ensure that they as citizens are valued, and that they can participate fully in and contribute to the life of their community.
Programs and services include:
- Educational advocacy: Support families who have children age birth to 26 years old who may need special education services to be successful in school.
- Social programs: Provide opportunities for ALL to be part of social programs in our community, including dances, sport opportunities, and summer recreation scholarships.
- Supportive services: Help people navigate the systems and resources available to those with developmental disabilities. This includes:
- Support Groups: Opportunities for parents/caregivers and siblings to receive support.
- Representative Payee Services: Provide support to adults with disabilities to manage their social security benefits.
- Person Centered Planning: An expert led problem-solving process to help people with disabilities plan for their future.
- Resource Referral Help: Talk to an expert to find local resources on items like mental health, housing, financial planning and navigating governmental benefits.
- Learning Opportunities: The Arc Livingston’s experts and local partners share their knowledge on various disability-related topics.
